How to get here

  • The easiest way to get to us is by car. Just enter the address Vítkovice 374, 512 38 Vítkovice into your navigation.
  • If you are traveling by public transport, the nearest stop is called Vítkovice, škola (450 m).

Check-in

We are a smart & self-service accommodation without a reception, so check-in takes place online. You will receive instructions on how to do it in the e-mail you provided during the reservation 2 days before arrival. This step is necessary to obtain the entrance PIN code to the door. The PIN code will open not only the entrance door and the apartment door, but also the sauna, playroom or self-service laundry.

  • Earlier check-inIf the occupancy of the apartments allows it, we will be happy to accommodate you. It is always necessary to agree with us in advance.
  • The service is charged and can be purchased in the Alfred application after our approval.

Refundable deposit

The basic pillar of our concept is trust and a mutual guarantee of mutual satisfaction. We know from experience that an accident can happen during your stay, during which something may accidentally break. Therefore, we collect a refundable deposit from guests as such insurance, which covers us and you and makes it easier for us to resolve similar cases later. The refundable deposit always applies to one apartment, in the case of group reservations, we deal with the refundable deposit individually. So that you don’t forget anything, you will receive all the information about online check-in and the refundable deposit in time to the e-mail address you provided during the reservation.

How do I pay the deposit?

  • Even before you arrive, you will be asked to pre-authorize a payment of CZK 2,500 via the payment gateway after online check-in – without this step, you will not receive the PIN required for accommodation.
  • The amount will be blocked in your account and will remain there until the end of your stay.
  • We release the amount within 48 hours after your departure – at that moment you will receive an e-mail with confirmation of the unblocking and, depending on the speed of processing the request by your bank, you will have the blocked amount released in your account within 7 to 21 days.
  • The speed of unblocking is purely at the discretion of your bank and we have no way to influence it.

 

What if I/we cause some damage in the apartment?

  • If any damage is found in the apartment, we will contact you and resolve the situation together.
  • In no case will we deduct money without your knowledge.

 

The refundable deposit always applies to one apartment, in the case of group reservations, we deal with the refundable deposit individually. So that you don’t forget anything, you will receive all the information about online check-in and the refundable deposit in time to the e-mail address you provided during the reservation.

Parking

We have plenty of space and you can also charge electric cars with us. For more information about parking, see here.

Baby cot and equipment for children

  • Are you coming to us with a baby, toddler or preschooler? You don’t have to bring all the equipment with you. We will prepare everything for you in your apartment.
  • In order for us to prepare everything, let us know as soon as possible. You can see what you will find in the children’s set here.

Towels, bedding and other equipment

  • The apartments are equipped above standard so that you don’t miss anything important with us. Towels, bedding, a sheet for the sauna, toilet paper, liquid soap, shower gel or paper tissues are therefore a matter of course.
  • In the kitchen you will find everything you need, from dishes to dish soap, tea towels and a dishwasher tablet. If you are missing something for cooking, or you have forgotten your charger at home, visit our self-service bar. In the end, all you need to bring is slippers.

Babysitting

  • Aunt Irča is the Krkonoše Mary Poppins. Indomitable, kind, she will cook for the children, watch over them in our apartment, playroom, garden, pool or on the slope in winter.
  • Tell us what you need and Aunt Irča will fulfill it for you. Enjoy comfort not only as a family, but also as a couple.
  • The price of babysitting is from CZK 350 to CZK 500/hour. Contact Auntie: +420 739 944 266.

Staying with a pet

Good to know in winter

  • Before you head to us, we recommend taking a look at the road treatment map, so you can adapt your journey to the current conditions.
  • You do not need snow chains for the journey to us.The apartments are located near the main road, so you can be sure that you can get to us even without chains. However, if you plan to travel by car to higher mountain areas (e.g. Mísečky, which is 10 minutes away by car) and you do not have 4×4 with good winter tires, we recommend packing snow chains – they may come in handy. If you don’t have chains, or you don’t want to go on snowy roads, you can continue up by ski bus.
  • We have a heated ski storage room, where you can also find a few things to rent for winter fun.

Good to know from spring to autumn

  • We have a bike room, where you can store your bike, charge your e-bike, or inflate your tires.

Below you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions that may come to your mind during your stay.

Hot water

  • To avoid wasting energy when no one is in the apartment for a long time, the refrigerator and boiler are switched off.
  • To turn them on, please open the fuses (cabinet by the door) and switch all switches to the up position.

Heating and air conditioning

  • Our house is smart, so we control the heating temperature remotely. For the heating to work, the windows need to be closed properly. Attention! The heating can get very hot!
  • Mezzanine apartments are also equipped with air conditioning, if you are hot in the summer and ventilation does not help, just turn it on.

Locked stove

  • Sometimes it may happen that the stove does not respond to normal switching on and the letter L is displayed on the display.
  • In this case, the stove is locked and needs to be unlocked by holding your finger on the power button for a longer time.

How to pay (self-service bar, coffee machine, laundry)

You can pay either in cash into the prepared boxes or via the QR code, which you can find in the self-service bar.

Common areas

  • While you have complete privacy in the apartment, in the cottage and garden areas you will share spaces with other guests (e.g. self-service bar, children’s playroom, terrace, outdoor pool or pergola). We do not accept reservations for common areas (with the exception of the sauna, which is private and must be booked in advance). Everything works on mutual agreement, communication and helpfulness.
  • In principle, the rule “first come, first served” applies. But it is also said that “asking doesn’t hurt”, so don’t be afraid to ask your temporary neighbors if you can join them for a barbecue, for example. Who knows, maybe you’ll take away new friendships in addition to beautiful memories.

Where to eat

Waste sorting

  • We approach nature with respect, and therefore we ask our guests to sort waste. In the apartment you will find sets of bins to make waste sorting easier.
  • Thanks to them, the subsequent sorting into containers located to the left of the main entrance will be a matter of a few minutes. Thank you 🙂

Where to walk the dog

  • You can manage a short walk on the officially non-existent path from the parking lot down towards the stream (20 meters from the house).
  • You can find more tips for walking here.
  • Please, do not walk dogs in the immediate vicinity of the house. The garden is not intended for this purpose. Always cross to the other side of the road. Thank you from us and other guests.
  • Don’t forget to collect excrement after your pets if they are in sight or in the way (even in the forest). Thank you!

Where to toboggan in winter

  • You can also “pan” right next to the apartments – from the side of the pergola down the road. But watch out for the road!
  • Further tobogganing is also possible on the officially non-existent path from the parking lot down towards the stream (20 meters from the house).
  • The large meadow above the apartments is ideal for longer walks, tobogganing and messing around in the snow. You can reach the meadow along the road (map), or you can climb up the steep hill just behind the pergola.
  • Sleds and seat pads/sliders/shovels are freely available for loan in the garage next to the ski storage room door. The ski storage room contains private equipment of guests, so do not borrow anything there. Thank you.

What to do if I need spare bedding

Has an accident happened and you need spare bedding? We are prepared for that too. If necessary, you can find spare bedding in the self-service laundry.

What to do if there is a power outage

  • We are prepared for this situation as well. Please note that in the event of a power outage, the signal and data do not work, so you will also find basic instructions for a power outage as part of the welcome letter in the apartment.
      • You will find lanterns in the cabinet under the TV so you are not in the dark. Candles are also available, but please handle them with care so you don’t set the place on fire.
      • In the garage you will find the so-called KPZ (last resort box), which takes the form of a large wooden chest. In it you will find a gas cylinder, a cooker and basic utensils.
  • If this situation occurs, don’t panic, we will contact you as soon as possible. We always know about the situation – ČEZ or our smart house will notify us directly. If, by some miracle, your data works, you can check the information about the situation at www.bezstavy.cz (address: Vítkovice 374, 512 38).
  • If you are uncomfortable with the situation, we recommend going down to Jilemnice (10 minutes by car), where you can find a temporary base in one of the cafes or restaurants.

  • We like to recommend what we have personally tried and what has excited us, so

    • Family park Horní Mísečky – a small area ideal for families with beginner skiers/snowboarders
    • Rautis – a traditional Czech manufacturer of beaded Christmas decorations, whose manual production is listed on the UNESCO list.
    • Aquacentrum vrchlabí
    • Trip across Mísečky (map) – our favorite trip, suitable for smaller children, starts at Zlaté návrší, which you can reach from us by bus from the U školy stop, or by car to the Horní Mísečky car park (CZK 30/hour). Along the way you will come across 2 viewpoints, a wooden bear, 2 educational boards, wooden walkways with peat bogs, a large playground in Medvědín, refreshments (Vrbatova Bouda, Restaurant Medvědín, Chata Mísečky) and at the end in summer you can run down the ski slope (or walk around it along the hiking trail).

Late check-out

  • If you want to extend your check-out, think about it in advance, it must be agreed in advance with regard to the occupancy of the apartment.

Before you leave the apartment

Before you leave the apartment, please take out the trash and turn on the dishwasher, or return the furniture to its original place.

Check-out process

There is no need to solve anything else in Alfréd or on the spot, just leave the room by 10 am (unless you have purchased a later check-out by agreement).

 

Refundable deposit

  • If we come across something to be resolved when cleaning the apartment, we call immediately to agree together – we do not deduct money without your knowledge.
  • The refundable deposit is unblocked by us no later than midnight on the day of departure. However, banks have their own policy of holding money (can be found among “holds” or “entered”) for 7-21 days.
  • You will receive more information in the email after departure. If you have any questions, please contact us at any time.

Reviews

  • Dear guests, reviews are essential for us. On the one hand, your rating lets other guests know what to expect, and on the other hand, it gives us feedback. We take your opinion seriously, every praise warms us and motivates us to further improve the whole building, every constructive criticism moves us towards perfection. We honestly read and address every review.
  • But we want to ask you – please enter your rating carefully. Every point you don’t give us lowers the overall rating and can get us into quite a bit of trouble. If you were satisfied, don’t be afraid to give the full number of points, you are not comparing accommodation, you are evaluating the current experience. Of course, there will sometimes be something somewhere that might be better. But this “maybe” that prevents you from giving full points, then does not correspond to reality. You will not return to the review to edit it after you have had other experiences elsewhere. 🙂
