FAQ

1. What, or who, is Alfred?

Alfred is our virtual receptionist, a web application available to all guests with a valid reservation. So, if we refer you to Alfred during our communication, from now on you’ll know who we mean. Do you already have a reservation? Then go ahead, try clicking here and enter your reservation code to get acquainted with Alfred.

2. What is a refundable deposit and how does it work?

The basic pillar of our concept is trust and a mutual guarantee of satisfaction. We know from experience that an accident can happen during your stay, in which something might accidentally break. That’s why we collect a refundable deposit from guests as an insurance policy that covers both us and you and makes it easier for us to resolve similar cases.

How do I pay the deposit?

Before you arrive, you will be asked to pre-authorize a payment of CZK 2,500 via the payment gateway after online check-in – without this step, you will not receive the PIN required for accommodation. The amount will be blocked in your account and will remain there until the end of your stay.

On the day of departure, we automatically release the amount – at that moment you will receive an email confirming the release and, depending on the speed of processing the request by your bank, you will have the blocked amount released in your account within 7 to 21 days. The speed of unblocking is entirely up to your bank and we have no way to influence it.

What if I/we cause any damage to the apartment?

If any damage is found in the apartment, we will contact you and resolve the situation together. In no case will we deduct money without your knowledge.

The refundable deposit always applies to one apartment, in the case of group bookings we deal with the refundable deposit individually. To make sure you don’t forget anything, you will receive all the information about online check-in and the refundable deposit in time to the email address you provided when booking.

3. Is it possible to stay with a dog or other pet?

You can come on vacation with your four-legged friend. Well-behaved pets are welcome in apartments ’20, ’60, or ’70. Just add the “Pets” service when booking, or do so later in Alfred. In other apartments, accommodation with animals is possible only by prior arrangement.

Before you go on vacation with your pet, please consider whether it is used to traveling and tolerates staying in an unfamiliar environment well. Thank you.

Accommodation with a pet is subject to a fee due to the increased demands on cleaning after your stay.

4. Do you have a common room?

Yes and no. From spring to autumn, apartment ’20 serves as a common room. It is not available during the winter season.

The common room is available to all guests 24/7 during its operating period. It’s a great place to hide away if you’ve arrived with a larger group of friends.

Unlike other apartments, in the common room you will find darts and we also hide the largest television for watching matches or romantic comedies with friends together. The kitchenette is also prepared for a larger number of guests, so we have more dishes here so you don’t have to bring them from your temporary home. It is also the only apartment with an oven, so you can boldly start baking together.

Tables, chairs and two comfortable armchairs are available for seating, which can be folded into a sofa. Right opposite is a children’s playroom – with the doors open, you can easily keep an eye on your little ones, and you can also borrow one of the board games from it.

5. Is it possible to reserve a pergola, common room, ...?

We do not accept reservations for common areas (with the exception of the sauna, which is private and must be booked in advance). Everything works on mutual agreement, communication, and helpfulness.

In principle, the rule “first come, first served” applies. However, it is also said that “asking never hurts,” so don’t be afraid to ask your temporary neighbors if you can join them for a barbecue, for example. Who knows, maybe you’ll take away new friendships in addition to beautiful memories.

6. Is early check-in and late check-out possible?

If the occupancy of the apartments allows, we will be happy to accommodate you. It is always necessary to agree with us in advance. These services are subject to a fee and can be purchased in Alfred after our approval.

We always try to accommodate our guests as much as possible, but if it is not possible due to capacity reasons, we will be happy to store your luggage or allow you to change and shower in the sauna area so that you can enjoy your departure day as much as possible.

7. What are the dining options like, and where can I shop for groceries?

We have compiled all the information about dining, including tips on nearby businesses and restaurants, in a clear and concise manner here.

8. Is it possible to rent a baby cot?

Family stays are perfect here, so the answer is of course yes. Along with the cot, we will gladly prepare a complete children’s set in the apartment for a fee.

9. Are duplex apartments suitable for small children?

Our guests’ experiences vary. Some parents (and especially children) are thrilled with the unexpected climbing frame in the form of a spiral or “L-shaped” staircase, while others learn to walk on stairs thanks to it during their stay. In any case, we can lend you a stair gate so that children cannot move freely on the stairs. Just let us know in advance and we will prepare the gate for you free of charge. There is no need to worry, children are often more skillful than we think. However, you know them best, so trust your instincts. 🙂

10. How is parking at your place?

We have several options, including a garage for a small fee. You can find everything about parking here.

11. Do I need snow chains in winter?

The apartments are located by the main road, so you can be sure to reach us even without chains. However, if you plan to drive to higher mountain areas (e.g. Mísečky, which is a 10-minute drive from us) and you don’t have a 4×4 with good winter tires, we recommend packing snow chains – they may come in handy.

If you don’t have chains, or you don’t want to venture out on snowy roads, you can continue up by ski bus.

Before arriving in winter, we always recommend checking the road conditions before your trip (road maintenance map).

12. Where can I find more information about the outdoor pool?

We’re glad you asked! We’ve written down everything important for these cases here.

13. I want to make a fire in the pergola, where can I find wood?

The wood is nicely prepared and dry under the pergola roof. You can also find newspapers, kindling, and matches there. You can read more about the pergola’s equipment on this page.

14. What does it mean to have above-standard equipment?

That you’ll find everything you’d normally expect from accommodation, and then some. We won’t even mention linens, towels, or a hairdryer, that’s a given. On top of that, we have perfectly equipped kitchens, a self-service bar, laundry room or a Jura coffee machine with specialty coffee.

15. Should we bring spices with us? What will I find in your kitchen for cooking?

Feel free to leave your spices at home. We have them prepared for you here in spice racks, and you can find some fresh herbs outside on the terrace in a planter. In addition, you can help yourself to things like flour, bulgur, pasta, or rice at the self-service bar.

You’ll also find something to snack on while watching TV, refreshments, and small items for children. Read more about how our self-service bar works.

16. Do you have a coffee maker?

We have one, and not just that! You’ll find it right on the ground floor. And if fresh coffee isn’t enough and you fancy something “stronger,” one floor up in the self-service bar, guests have access to a beer tap. Something for everyone, in short.

17. Where can I walk the dog and where can we go sledding?

The large meadow above the apartments is ideal for a longer walk, running your dog, and sledding and having fun in the snow. You can reach the meadow by following the path (map), or you can scramble up the steep hill just behind the pergola. There is also a small secret hidden there – an icicle cave. Can you find it?
You can also “sled” right by the apartments – from the side of the pergola down the path. But watch out for the road!
You can also do more sledding and short dog walks on the officially non-existent path from the parking area down towards the stream (20 meters from the building).
One final request. Please pick up after your pets, thank you.
